False Hero Combat Arts Tier List

Demo ranks for stolen moves — not a launch-week gospel.

Combat Arts Tier List

This is a demo Combat Arts tier list for False Hero. The full Steam game on 22 September 2026 will add dozens of stolen moves; ranking those now would be fan fiction. What we can rank is the kit the public chapter actually gives you: Book Throw, Spectral Blade, Evasive Thrust, Flamethrower, and Ignorance’s tentacle. Criteria are simple: does the art earn its Focus cost, does it chain into a different art, and does it still work when Ignorance or a machine is on screen.

Read how stealing works if the words Focus and Insight still blur. Then steal a combo build instead of copying a letter grade into a loadout you do not understand.

S — you should bind this

Ignorance Tentacle. Unblockable, wide, stolen from the first boss. Machines that want to trade poise lose to a move that ignores block. It is greedy on Focus, so it is a stagger-pop button, not a poke. If it is not on a face button after Ignorance, your loadout planner is lying to you.

Book Throw. The tutorial art that stays honest. Homing, mid-range, teaches you that arts ignore stamina. Scholars were nerfed in how often they throw it at you; your version remains the safest way to tax a long wind-up. Upgrade it with Knowledge Points if this is the button you press on instinct.

A — default kit, not a meme

Spectral Blade. Blue disc of violence around your body. Patch-buffed hitbox so intimate enemies no longer phase through. Best as the second art in a chain, after a poke. Worse if you spam it as a panic spin in a corridor — the recovery is the tax.

Evasive Thrust. Balancing notes grew the hitbox. It is the dash you get to keep when stamina is already sad. Ranked A because positioning is half of False Hero and this art still deals damage while you leave a hip-check.

B — strong until the room changes

Flamethrower. Damage was reduced in a demo patch, which is the most sincere compliment a designer can give a tool. Still good at holding a doorway. Worse against Ignorance’s long limbs if you stand inside the model. Slot it when the demo map puts you in a choke; leave it on the bench in an open plaza.

Default Blade of Wisdom hits. Not a Combat Art. Listed here so someone stops asking. Sword is fuel. If it is your main damage, you are fighting the patch notes.

C — situational, not trash

Repeated same-art strings. The tutorial says chaining different attacks is always faster than using the same attack twice. A double Book Throw is therefore a C-tier plan even if Book Throw is S-tier as a single button. Rank the habit, not only the icon.

Unupgraded extras you found in a side room. If you do not press it, it is inventory. Fashion is C-tier for damage because it is zero-tier for damage. Equip capes for joy; see Equipment, not this list.

How this list will break on launch day

The store promises arts from arachnoids, dragons, angelic bosses, and whatever Birth’s log-tunnels hide. God powers sit in a different bucket. Clothing stays cosmetic unless a patch says otherwise — none has. When 22 September lands, this hub will split by land instead of pretending one S-tier tentacle is the meta forever.

Until then, steal two arts that do not share a role. Poke + sweep beats sweep + sweep. Check demo bosses for machine-specific notes, and keep Knowledge Points on the art you actually fire when you panic. Panic is the real tier list.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers for the Steam demo and the 22 Sep 2026 launch.

Is this False Hero tier list for the full game?

No. It ranks demo Combat Arts only. The full 22 Sep 2026 roster is not public enough to grade honestly.

Why is Book Throw so high?

It is available early, spends Focus instead of stamina, and lets you punish wind-ups you cannot physically reach. That is the demo’s entire lesson.

Should I use Flamethrower after the nerf?

Yes in chokes. No as a default on every button. The damage cut means you need the stagger pop more than a room-wipe.
